AFRICAN LITERATURE: PROCESSING THE PAST, WRITING THE FUTURE

Media personalities Joanne Joseph (South Africa) and Eusebius McKaiser (South Africa) will co-present a one hour programme in two parts.

 

Joanne Joseph will present South African Literature: Processing the Past, Writing the Future“, which pertains to attempts to comprehend our colonised past and suggest throughways arising out of literature and writing to achieve catharsis. The programme will feature Patric Mellet on “The Lie of 1652“, award-winning Dutch poet Dr Alfred Schaffer (Netherlands – South Africa) on his poetry on racism and xenophobia, and Nkanyezi Tshabalala (South Africa) from Jonathan Ball Publishers, who are excavating hidden South African histories and turning them into commercial books.

Eusebius McKaiser will interview the editor of The New Frame, Danielle Bowler.
