Nolwazi Nene joins the Centre for Creative Arts as a Black feminist literary editor, content creator, and scholar from KwaZulu-Natal. She graduated from the University of Cape Town in 2019, and over the last few years, she has edited a number of award-winning pieces, including poetry and short stories that have gone on to appear in publications such as Gagosian Quarterly and Woven with Brown Thread. As part of the CCA, Nolwazi will work extensively with the curatorial teams of the Time of the Writer festival and the Artfluence Human Rights festival whilst also working on developing the Centre’s publications. She brings with her a deep commitment to Black literature, sound, and mapping freedom through creative expression and imagination.
