Mandla Ndlovu
 
 
Maurice Mandla Ndlovu was born in Pietermaritzburg, Gezubuso area. He began his education at Zamelisizwe Primary and KwaNgubeni Primary both in Pietermaritzburg. He continued at Emakeni Primary and Mzikawuthandwa High both situated at Dalton near Wartburg. He then proceeded to Emthonjeni Wolwazi High and Mtshezi High in Estcourt where he matriculated. Mandla found himself moving around among different schools because of political violence in the Midlands during the years of 1990’s.
In 1997 Ndlovu benefitted from the European Union bursary and also enrolled for a Diploma in Paralegal Studies at the then University of Natal (UKZN) in Durban. After his studies he was employed at the Durban NGO Community Law and Rural Development Centre and worked as a Head Paralegal in Dalton office. In 2006 Mandla joined SA Police Service and was employed as an investigating officer.
He started his writing career in 2002. He has written several genres including radio dramas, novels, short stories, kids’ books and poems. Ndlovu has won the MML Literature Award in 2007,2009 and 2013 and has novels prescribed as set work for high school learners.
