Dala has worked in collaboration with Ashwin Desai and Goolam Vahed on a chapter contribution to the book: Chatsworth, The Making of a South African Township (2013). Having obtained a certificate in Creative Writing from UCT, Dala's completed full-length novel, What About Meera? is due for official launch in March 2015 by Random House Struik, Umuzi. Dala hails from the very world she richly describes in her novel. Rural sugar plantations and tiny villages are the places of her stories; those dusty stories hidden away in cupboards and tin chests. Dala has been included on the 2015 Goodreads Sunday Times list of Top Novelists to look out for in 2015.
