Born in Mozambique, Féling Capela is a multi-lingual international professional photographer and cultural artist with over seven years of experience in professional photography, community organising, coordinating events, and performing.
Capela is an innovative, creative and talented artist with a passion for working with diverse populations. He has photographed notable political figures including the presidents of Brazil, Portugal, and East Timor as well as all 15 presidents under the South African Development Community (SADC) including former South African President Nelson Mandela. He covered extensively the funeral proceedings of the late Nelson Mandela where he also had opportunity to photograph the president of the USA, Mr Barack Obama, amongst others such as Ban ki Moon of the United Nations.
He is the Founding Member and Promoter of Associação Cultural Pl‘Arte d‘Alma (International Cultural Arts Group) which runs Poetry Night; Acoustic Soul; and Book Fairs gathering together hundreds of local expatriates, Mozambicans and tourists for live poetry, music, and literature celebrating Mozambican and international culture. He is recognised as a top poet both in spoken and written form. He also works as a collaborator and presenter of the Foundation for Community Development (FDC) which seeks to promote literary and musical creativity amongst the youth.
