DIFF 2016: Call for Submissions

The Durban International Film Festival (DIFF) invites filmmakers from across the world to submit their Short, Documentary or Feature Fiction films to screen in the festival from the 16 to 26 June 2016. The 37th edition of the festival is organized with key partnerships with the Durban Film Office, eThekwini Municipality, KwaZulu-Natal Film Commission, National Film and Video Foundation and other valued funders and partners.

Berlinale Talents Durban 2014

This year’s theme for Talents Durban (formerly Talent Campus Durban) is titled ‘Continent of Contrasts / de Contrastes’ in tribute to the godfather of African cinema, Djibril Diop Mambéty, and his seminal first film Contras' City (City of Contrast). Celebrating the 45th anniversary of the film, the 7th Berlinale Talents Durban will bring filmmakers from across the continent to draw inspiration from Africa’s long tradition of story-telling.

The Durban International Film Festival is entering its 35th year in 2014 and is looking for a young, inspired new image to mark this special benchmark in the festival’s history.

Under the guidance of festival manager Peter Machen, the DIFF team is looking at creative ways to represent the festival and expand our reach to attract more attention from the public, media and global film community, with the ultimate aim of being recognised as the Cannes of Africa.
